And still...

  • Every year, more than 2 million people die of work-related accidents and diseases.
  • More than 160 million workers fall ill each year due to workplace hazards.
  • In many developing countries, death rates among workers are five to six times those in industrialized countries.
  • Workers in rural areas and the urban informal sector are often ignored or difficult to reach.

Yet the phenomenon is still largely undocumented and there is not always enough political will to address the problem.

YOU and YOUR company can change this by partnering
with the ILO!

By establishing a public-private partnership with the ILO, you can improve occupational safety and health at the workplace and therefore better the conditions of those who are excluded from all labour protection.

The partnership is a voluntary and collaborative relationship between a company and the ILO and can take the form of:

  • Funding or donations in kind in support of improving Occupational Safety and Health at the Workplace
  • Common development and implementation of projects in most affected countries
  • Temporary placement and exchange of personnel between your company and the ILO to work on activities of mutual interest
  • Campaigning or advocacy
  • Exchange or pooling of knowledge and information
